When I offline the unit from the router it works fine but of course no video. The wife likes the video and so do I. The problem is in the unit's software I believe. The button works fine when offline so if the problem was voltage or the chime it would persists with any switch source. After checking the inside wiring at the door chime itself and following some of the Ring trouble shooting steps, I removed the Ring doorbell from it's mounted position out front to find that the sheath of the wires connecting the doorbell had been worn over time and the wires were exposed. Once I fixed this with electrical tape, the chiming stopped. I know this likely isn't the problem for a majority of you who cannot get it to stop chiming at install, but for those of you who have it working and get this situation know that it could be due to a short in the wiring. see less I know this likely isn't the problem for a majority of you who cannot get it to stop chiming at install, but for those of you who have it working and get this situation know that it could be due to a short in the wiring.

I had the same problem with mine. I upgraded my transformer to 16-24 volts and I bought a new mechanical doorbell and it works fine now. I think it's either the transformer for the doorbell. I think the ring pro doesn't like the digital doorbells.

I had the same problem (digital chime starts ringing non stop) twice in the past year. Both times, hard resetting the video door bell fixed it. You need to push and hold the orange button in the back of the door bell for 15 seconds then remove it and add it in the ring app. If this doesn't work, you can try replacing your chime with a resistor. Search ring web site for "How to Connect Your Ring Video Doorbell Directly to a Low Voltage Transformer (Without a Pre-existing Doorbell)" for instructions.

Rings our doorbell randomly on it's own. Tech support is overseas and wholly incompetent. At one point they even suggested removing the unit and placing it in a dark box to see if it still rings ???????
SOLUTION...RETURN YOUR RING PRODUCT AND BUY A COMPETITOR THAT DOES NOT WANT YOU TO REWIRE YOUR HOUSE TO FIX THEIR PRODUCT!

I might have a solution... This happened to me yesterday. I've had my Ring Doorbell for almost a year, and everything has been working as it should for the most part... Give or take some delayed ring notifications... But out of nowhere, yesterday my doorbell started randomly ringing over and over, about every 30 second… see more I might have a solution... I didn't know what to do, but my dogs were going crazy so I had to do something. I unscrewed my doorbell and tried charging it, but it was almost fully charged. So then I went through the setup process again, and reconnected my doorbell with the iPhone app, and ever since then, it hasn't happened again! It's actually working better than before, so I would suggest everyone try taking down their doorbells and re-syncing them with the Ring app. see less I might have a solution... Has anyone figured this out? Mine does the same, as soon as I complete the wiring it keeps ringing. Diode is properly installed, compatible chime, and digital chime.

Too bad someone can't tell us exactly why it's doing this and the procedures for correcting it. My installation continuously chimes indoors when the diode is in in one direction, but won't chime at all when the diode is reversed. Without the diode, the Ring button won't sound the chime, but crossing the wires will. Gotta love Ring's support {sarcasm}.
Ours works for about 3 days then begins ringing randomly and doorbell makes a buzzing sound.
